It was a long day which just keep draining me.
The sense of loss, dejection, humiliation, anger all negative emotions engulfed me.
Suddenly everything was blank and emotions gave way to loss of self confidence, how and why I reached this state just because of an elections in Bihar in which I invested emotionally and in that emotions i started hallucinating for 2/3 majority for BJP.
Alas first rude shock was seeing a dream in morning in early dawn that NDA has been wiped out only 20 seats won and even vote share has come down.
This jolted me out of bed but it was bad omen, anyway day didn't digressed much and by 11:00 am dream was turning into reality.
Finally it was a brutal reality slightly better then the dream in seats and vote share but complete annihilation.
To put bluntly MODI lost it badly. People didn't care if he is working 18 hrs or has not taken a single leave till date.
And from here begins the cold clinical analysis.
How a PM who is gifted orator, excellent communicator, polished extemporist, hard working, energetic campaigner, champion multitasker, intelligent, media savvy, can go so wrong in one of the toughest election from onset.
Reasons are multiple.
Bhagwat's statement on reservation review.
Beef becoming symbol of intolerance.
Beef lynching becoming attack on minorities.
Dog analogy for dalit kids burning in haryana by General VK Singh.
DNA of nitish and lallu getting changed to DNA problem of all biharis.
Auctioning of 1.65 cr development package and associated theatrics.
Caste arithmetic.

Nitish campaign handled by Prashant Kishore who handled 2014 campaign of MODI. He who coined Ab kee baar Modi Sarkar coined Bahut hua Jumlo ka War Ab Kee Baar Nitish Sarkar.

Unwittingly BJP helped in forging a template of opposition unity. This will be exploited to hilt in future elections.
What is way forward now. Again MODI need to re-visit 2014 election result and analyze why people voted for him.
People voted to have development, corrupt getting jail, jobs, curbing price rise, reforms etc etc.
Has he worked on them.
Is that showing results.
Are results visible.
Are results evident.
Are they getting communicated properly.
The answer sadly is big nos and low yes.
What course corrections MODI can do.
First and foremost pick ministries which directly and indirectly affect people in day to day life.
Prices of food and edible items. Control prices of vegetables, grains, oil, pulses, milk, spices etc.
Health care. Prices of medicines, doctors reach, medical services.
Information medium. People read magazines newspaper and watch news.
Messaging distortion starts at this point, all positive work and speeches and utterance get new meaning and new life here.
Indirectly there are large number of ministries which affect day to day life.
Finance is one hell of the ministry which need complete and quick overhaul.
Minority affair need to start engaging ppl big time.
Discipline is absent in party, in a sense its more democratic then required.
Disgruntled lot need an ear they need to segregated on basis of their neglect or ambition.
Listen to people who were your friends once but are in process of becoming adversaries or foes.
Arun Shourie, Subramanian Swami, Yashwant Sinha, Shatrughan Sinha, RK Singh, Murli Manohar Joshi, Lal Krishna Advani etc need gracious handing.
Opposition needs special handling, your foes should be more close to you then friends. Genuine humility can bring necessary calm to winter session of parliament.
Try to break opposition unity, don't let them go poles apart from you. And this can be done by Modi only. Don't fool around sonia or rahul, bust host Manmohan Singh, Sachin Pilot, Jyotiraditya Sindhia, Shashi Tharoor, Omaan Chandi, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Sharad Pawar, Mayawati, all is not lost with Nitish, Mamta, Jyalalita, Naveen Patnaik etc.
Start hosting people from media who can be handled like Shekhar Gupta, Prabhu Chawla, Gaurav Sawant, Arnub Goswami. You need to cherry pick barring Some well knowns.
Start giving more importance to regional mediums. Try to cultivate new tribe of MSM who can be friendly or best Neutral.
One thing should be clear era of niceties and bonhomie is over now its time to action or parish.
Remember no one remembers or miss people who work hard. People remember maverick or ultra smart.
Chivalry may seem unnecessary but can come handy in crucial times.
All is not lost but basking under glory of past makes one forget to create new history.
